Founded in 2017 by Shivangini Rathore, an artist and a textile designer who loves to tell stories through her textile arts and create artistic textiles using different craft techniques of India.
At Studio Malang, each design has a story, and every story takes you on a journey to your “Malang” self.
For us the process is as important as the product. Our story is a collective narrative of all the makers whose shared efforts culminate in a beautiful legacy. Each garment is carefully and slowly handcrafted in our studio in Jaipur with thoughtful details before it completes its journey in your wardrobe, ready to be a part of your story.
Being from India, we stay true to our indigenous roots and take pride in our ethnicity catering to the global consumer. Our process is slow. Each piece of our collection is meticulously designed and conceptualized. Unlike fast fashion, we believe in producing limited quantities and rather produce on orders to avoid wastage and excess production. We refrain from using synthetics like rayon, polyester, nylon, acrylic or spandex that do not decompose and leave permanent trails in the environment.

“Malang” basically means a devotee; the one who feigns madness but who is very wise, knowledgeable and creative.
